When you get your insurance license, you have the choice to go independent or captive. Captive is when you go work for a singular company and you can ONLY write business for that company.     Not magic although we have seen some pretty amazing sales skills that have resulted from our training classes. As an FMO, we get an administrative processing fee on the policies you write. They pay us, you don’t. If you don’t write business, we never get paid. You could say, if we don’t help you be successful, then we fail as well. We have to be invested in you and your growth.
